Entries are open for the 25th Annual Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular at the Vernon County Fairgrounds in Viroqua, Wis. May 3-4. Showmanship begins on Friday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m. The cattle show will start with winter heifers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, followed by milking classes at 12:30 p.m. Dean Dohle will serve as judge.
New this year, there will be a Summer Jr. 2-Year-Old Class and a Production Class. Both were added at the exhibitors’ request and granted as a breeder-run show.
Entry forms are available for all interested exhibitors. There will be a $20 exhibitor fee and a $10 per animal charge until April 19. Entries submitted April 20-26 will be $25 per animal. Following that deadline, the price will rise to $100 per head.
Registered Jersey cattle from across the Midwest will circle the ring as breeders distinguish themselves in the industry. In past years, the event welcomed up to 500 attendees with cattle from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and beyond.
The Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular will include a silent auction that contributes to the operation of the show. The committee is also accepting sponsors from individuals, organizations, and businesses.
The Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular is organized solely by volunteers. For more information about donations or entries, contact Karla Peterson by phone/text at 608-606-1818, or email at karlap2008@live.com.
