In partnership with the UW-Madison Division of Extension, DATCP will be hosting a webinar on the Wisconsin Harvest of the Month Campaign on Aug. 23 from 2-3 p.m.
The Wisconsin Harvest of the Month is a statewide campaign for schools that encourages students to eat more Wisconsin-grown fruits and vegetables. Each month, schools showcase one seasonal, Wisconsin-grown fruit or vegetable, which allows students to taste, explore, and learn about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables.
School food service staff, producers, distributors, suppliers serving schools and organizations supporting farm to school efforts are invited to attend.
The webinar will focus on the purpose of the campaign and how to participate, DATCP’s Minimally Processed Farm to School Veggie Pilot Project, menu planning for school nutrition programs and connecting to schools.
Representatives of UW-Extension, DATCP and the Department of Public Instruction will speak.
