Cheese Makers Create New Committee

The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) announced today the creation of a new Membership Committee and invited members to submit nominations for their peers to serve on the committee.

“WCMA’s members are the driving force behind our organization. Thanks to their active engagement, we’re able to provide high-quality trainings, networking opportunities, business development resources, and strategic advocacy,” said WCMA Executive Director John Umhoefer. “This new Membership Committee is an exciting opportunity for members of all types to share their thoughts and ideas on how we can better serve them.”

“Regardless of size, type, or length of their membership, the input of all WCMA members is extremely valuable,” added WCMA Business & Membership Manager Sara Schmidt. “We’re looking forward to providing this new platform for members to engage with the association and bring their suggestions to life.”

The Membership Committee will be one of nine committees currently offered by WCMA. With association staff support, this group will review WCMA’s current membership structure, develop member recruitment and retention strategies, and share new ideas to support the success of all WCMA members.

Nominations must be submitted by WCMA members via email directly to WCMA Business & Membership Manager Sara Schmidt at [email protected] by 12 p.m. (CT) Friday, August 20. Nominees must be WCMA members. Following the consideration of all nominations, committee members will be selected by the WCMA Board of Directors. The group will begin meeting in the fall of 2021.
