March Prices Are In – What Did You Get?

The average price received by farmers for corn during March 2024 in Wisconsin was $4.09 per bushel. This was 5 cents below the February price and $2.16 below March 2023.

The data comes from the latest ag prices report from USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

The March 2024 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $11.60 per bushel, was 50 cents below the February price and $2.80 below the March 2023 price.

The March average oat price per bushel, at $4.00, was 8 cents below February and 54 cents below March 2023.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $175.00 per ton in March. This was $4.00 below the February price but $23.00 above the March 2023 price. The March 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $187.00, was $1.00 above the previous month and $25.00 above March 2023. The average price received for other hay during March was $137.00 per ton. This was $15.00 below the February price but $22.00 above March last year.

The Wisconsin all milk price for March 2024 was $19.10 per hundredweight (cwt). This was 10 cents above February’s price but $1.60 below last March’s price. The U.S. all milk price for March was $20.70 per cwt, $1.60 higher than Wisconsin’s price and 10 cents higher than last month’s U.S. price.
