Gear Up For Grilled Cheese Day In Omro

Winnebago County Farm Bureau Dairy Promotion Committee announced their annual Grilled Cheese Day will take place on June 1 in Omro.

The public is invited to join the June Dairy Month celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 7075 9th St Rd.

This event is free to attend. Grilled cheese meals will be available to purchase for $5/meal. Each meal includes a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, milk, fresh cheese curds, custard, and potato chips.

This year, June Dairy Month is truly a reason for celebration. The host — Egan Family Dairy — is
also celebrating their centennial year! Their story began in 1924 with a few cows and 80 acres
of land. Today, their fifth-generation farm includes 550 cows, 350 heifers, and 1,000 acres of land.

The family strives to produce a high-quality milk product while maintaining healthy and well-cared-for animals on their farm. The Egan family enjoys educating youth about the agriculture and dairy industry and is looking forward to hosting this event.

Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin is an important partner for this event. Winnebago County Farm Bureau Dairy Promotion Committee strives to hold an in-person event every year for June Dairy Month because there is no better place to learn about farming than on a farm.

June Dairy Month events have become an iconic part of Wisconsin culture for nearly 50 years. These events are family-friendly for all to enjoy. They offer opportunities for attendees to learn about local dairy farms and meet the dedicated families that keep them running, enjoy delicious food made with fresh Wisconsin-made dairy products, and spend time with friends and neighbors.

On June 1, activities and entertainment will include butter making, coloring, feeding a calf, Dairy Trivia, Moo-Mania Comedy Show, touch a tractor, and much more!
