Egg Production 9 Percent Higher

Wisconsin egg production during February was 182 million eggs, up 9 percent from the previous February, according to the latest Chickens and Eggs report from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

U.S. egg production totaled 8.62 billion during February, up 5 percent from last year.

The average number of all layers on hand in Wisconsin during February was 7.49 million, up 6 percent from last year. Eggs per 100 layers for February was 2,430, up 3 percent from a year ago.

In the U.S., the average number of layers during February totaled 377 million, down 1 percent from last year. February egg production per 100 layers was 2,288 eggs, up 6 percent from February 2023.
