Dane County Fair Returns

Experience some great old-fashioned family fun at the 2021 Dane County Fair, July 15 – 18, at the Alliant Energy Center. Step out and enjoy FREE nightly concerts, daily family entertainment with Lady Houdini and KidBuck$ Game Show, and animals and youth projects where the Future is Bright. Admission is $3 before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday & Friday.

The Fair goes into full swing on Thursday, July 15 and each theme day is loaded with fun and activities. Calling all Dane County’s bravest as we celebrate Hometown Hero Day. Admission is free for armed forces personnel, police officers, firefighters, and first responders and a guest. Join us for special flag ceremonies with the American Legion Post 59 of Stoughton raising the flags at 11:00 a.m. and lowering the flags at 8:00 p.m. Heroes bring your ID; vendors will be offering hero-only discounts and specials. The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive from 1:00 – 5:00 pm and there is a resource fair and so much more. Wrap up your evening with demonstrations by Madison Roller Derby at 6:00 p.m. and Chicken Wire Empire, a contemporary bluegrass band from Milwaukee, on the main stage at 7:00 p.m.—both free for all fairgoers.

Calling all kids to come out Friday, July 16 and celebrate our youth. Kids Day at the Fair is loaded with FREE activities. Kids can hit the playground equipment hosted by ESPN Madison or pedal their way to victory in the Kiddie Tractor Pull! Check out the Kiddie Farm and all the animals in Pavilion 2, horses in Pavilion 1, and pigs in the Arena Building. Parents, don’t miss Madison County taking the main stage at 7:00 p.m. So much to do in one day, you will want to enter the grounds before 3:00 p.m. to enjoy the admission special of $3 per person.

Help others in the community and have a little fun on Farm Fresh Day on Saturday, July 17. The Fair is partnering with Second Harvest Foodbank and their Adopt a Dairy Cow program. Arrive before 3 p.m. and $1 of every cash admission at the gates will go towards the Adopt a Dairy Cow program. Tractors will roll down Fairgrounds Drive in the Fabulous Farm Babe Tractor Parade and be on display 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Alice in Dairyland will be at the Fair too between 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.! The evening ends with exciting FREE performances by Cochren & Company, Cade Thompson, and Lydia Laird presented by Life 102.5 in the Exhibition Hall starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Fair wraps up on Sunday, July 18 with Family Day and our partners La Movida. Join us for a non-denominational church service at 9:00 a.m. hosted by Charlie’s Concessions. Be sure to stay for the day-long party at the main stage with eating contests, live music and traditional Latino dance performances beginning at noon. In Showring B in Pavilion 2 starting at 10:00 a.m., you can see the best senior youth exhibitors test their skills with many species while they compete for Master Showman. Then, stay and watch the Dress-A-Critter contest.

Since 1851, the Dane County Fair has been a tradition serving as the gathering place for the community of Dane County.
