Crop Values Down 22% From 2022

The production of Wisconsin’s field and miscellaneous crops was valued at $4.65 billion in 2023, down 22 percent from 2022.

This is according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service’s crop values summary for 2023.

The value of corn for grain production totaled $2.43 billion, down 26 percent from the previous year. Wisconsin’s corn price averaged $4.40 per bushel, $1.71 below the last marketing year.

The value of soybean production was $1.30 billion, down 19 percent from 2022. The average price decreased $1.40 from the previous year to $12.40 per bushel.

Value of production increased from 2022 to 2023 for other hay and potatoes. The value of production decreased from 2022 to 2023 for barley, alfalfa hay, oats, rye, and winter wheat.
