Dairy Finds Sweet Success

Justin Sparrgrove is a dairy farmer in southwest Wisconsin and co-owner of Udder Brothers’ Creamery in Boscobel.

Sparrgrove and his twin brother, and their families, milk 130 cows on a 40-acre farm, and raise market hogs and goats all while operating the ice cream shop. Their shop sells everything from ice cream to cheese to pork, beef and lamb. It also features maple syrup and honey. All of the products come from within a 60-mile radius from Boscobel.

The brothers also go mobile, selling ice cream at tractor pulls and businesses.

The shop is an alternate source of income for when the milk check doesn’t cut it. It’s a way for the family to “stay small” while making a living.
