Beginning Dec. 7, DHS will be offering retailers across Wisconsin the opportunity to obtain free equipment that they can use to accept FoodShare payments wirelessly. Eligible retailers include not only grocers, but also other vendors that sell food, like gas stations, farmers markets, and direct marketing farmers.
The goal of this program is to increase FoodShare members’ access to alternative grocery shopping options, such as curbside pick-up and payment. These services decrease risk of COVID-19 infection for both customers and retail workers by limiting person-to-person interactions.
To apply for equipment, visit the application site and have the following information available:
- USDA Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Number
- Business Name
- Business Address
- Federal Tax ID
- Business Email
