The Association of Women in Agriculture invite you to their 2022 Breakfast on the Farm. And it’s finally in-person after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
AWA will welcome you May 1 to the Stock Pavilion on the UW-Madison campus with a hearty, farm-style breakfast, celebrity appearances, live entertainment, baby animals, and activities for the kids. Junior McKenzie Trinko and sophomore Olivia McDonald are on the team coordinating the breakfast. The duo tells Mid-West Farm Report everything guests need to know upon arrival.
You have three ticket options: purchase ahead here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/awas-26th-annual-breakfast-on-the-farm-tickets-303157521307; pay cash at the gate; or scan a QR code to pay with card. Worried about parking? Trinko and McDonald explain there are lots of parking opportunities in lots, garages or on the street. The walk shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes from where you park.
Once you get in line, prepare for the mouth-watering aroma of 400 pounds of eggs, 90 pounds of pancakes and 180 pounds of sausage — just to name a few items. This event is the kick-off to a summer of farm and dairy breakfasts! And the girls are doing it with little experience. The 26th Annual Breakfast on the Farm team has never run an in-person breakfast — past organizers have graduated since 2019. Trinko explains the girls have been resourceful, calling on alumnae and learning from notes of years past.
These young leaders in agriculture have a plan to offer a filling breakfast, petting zoo and education stations for attendees to “celebrate those who work in acres, not hours.”
