WSA Seeking Young Leader Program Applicants

The deadline is fast approaching for Wisconsin’s next generation of soybean industry leaders. Applications for the 2025 ASA Corteva Agriscience Young Leader Program are due Friday, September 20.

The Wisconsin Soybean Association (WSA), a member of the American Soybean Association (ASA), is seeking growers to represent Wisconsin soybean farmers. This prestigious program offers a chance to grow as a leader in the soybean industry.

WSA President Sara Stelter emphasizes the program’s importance. “Fostering the next generation of soybean leaders is crucial for implementing sound policies and ensuring a bright future for soybean farming,” Stelter said. “The Young Leader program provides an excellent opportunity for mentorship and future success. We encourage all eligible growers to apply.”

The first phase of the 2024-2025 Young Leader Program will occur from December 2-5 at Corteva’s Global Business Center in Johnston, Iowa. The program will continue in Denver from February 28 to March 4, 2025, alongside the Commodity Classic Convention and Trade Show.

For over 40 years, the Young Leader Program has successfully trained soybean farmers for leadership roles. ASA President Josh Gackle highlights its impact, stating, “The program has significantly influenced soybean advocacy, with many graduates now holding key positions in the industry. Currently, five ASA Executive Committee members are program alumni.”

Both individual and couple soybean growers are encouraged to apply. The program focuses on leadership, communication, agriculture trends, and building a strong network. It is open to growers of all ages who are young in leadership.

Danny Brisky, a recent Wisconsin representative in the program, shares his experience: “The program is incredibly well-structured. It helped me build confidence and handle various situations effectively. I urge others to step out of their comfort zones and apply.”
