The Wisconsin Pork Association is again offering two tiers of rebates to producers
testing for Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) and Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea
Virus (PEDv).
Tier 1: $25 rebate to pork producers to help offset ELISA testing costs.
Tier 2: $50 rebate to pork producers to offset PCR testing costs.
Testing is required to comply with Wisconsin’s Swine Health rule that took effect in March 2018. The
rule requires farms with pigs to test for PRRS and PEDv when moving intrastate or interstate. Testing is
not required for pigs moving directly to harvest. The funding is available on a first come-first serve
basis in 2025 while funds are available.
To qualify, the following requirements apply:
- Producer must complete and submit rebate form and documents by December 1st, 2025.
o Complete Rebate Application form
o Test results from the diagnostic lab that shows test results for both PEDv and PRRS
o Copy of the invoice from the veterinarian for testing - Producers may only apply for one rebate per 90 days in the 2025 calendar year.
Data that is submitted will remain confidential and will be used for PRRS and PEDv data collection
purposes only to help us better determine the prevalence of these two costly diseases in Wisconsin.
