Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular Show Set for Early May

After canceling the 22nd Annual Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular because of COVID-19, the Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular Committee is pleased to announce plans are underway to host a show in 2021 at the Vernon Co. Fairgrounds in Viroqua, Wis.

Entries forms will be released shortly. The cost is $10 per animal until April 23. Entries submitted April 24-30 will be $25. Following that deadline, the price will rise to $100. Registered Jersey cattle from across the Midwest will circle the ring as breeders distinguish themselves in the industry. In past years, the event welcomed up to 500 attendees with cattle from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and beyond.

Showmanship begins on Friday, May 7. The cattle show will start with winter heifers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 and milking classes starting at 12:30 p.m. The Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular will include a silent auction that funds Wisconsin Junior Jersey Breeders Association activities and contributes to the operation of the show. Additionally, the committee is accepting sponsors to help cover the cost of the show and fund improvements to the Vernon County Fairgrounds.

The Wisconsin Jersey Spring Spectacular is organized solely by volunteers. For more information about donations or entries, contact Karla Peterson by phone/text at 608-606-1818, or email at [email protected]
