The Wisconsin Association of FFA recognized three Distinguished Service Award recipients and a Wisconsin FFA VIP Award at the 95th Wisconsin FFA Convention held in Madison, Wisconsin.
Distinguished Service Award
For outstanding support, help and guidance to agricultural education and the FFA, the Wisconsin Association of FFA bestowed the Distinguished Service Award to three recipients at the 95th
Wisconsin FFA Convention held in Madison, Wisconsin.
The 2024 Distinguished Service Award recipients are:
AgCountry Farm Credit Services – represented by Wyall Lebal and Josh Schmidt
AgCountry Farm Credit Services is a Patron Corporate Sponsor where they provide support for Chapter Grants and Scholarships. They are also a Convention and Leadership Partner that provides endless program opportunities for FFA members. Each year they also participate in the Convention Expo. AgCountry Farm Credit Services’ mission is to serve agriculture and rural America. This mission has resulted in a very long history of supporting youth and the FFA program.
Holiday Inn and Convention Center -Stevens Point – represented by Michelle Sedlak
The Holiday Inn and Convention Center in Stevens Point has served as a meeting point for FFA members for 12 years for leadership events. The staff at the Holiday Inn and Convention Center exceed expectations when they host FFA experiences, grooming future leaders. Wisconsin FFA appreciates the quality of facilities and thanks Michelle and her team for their services.
Andrea Brossard
Andrea Brossard is part owner of her family’s third-generation dairy farm, Brossard Dairy Farm LLC. As an FFA member she won the State CDE Ag Sales contest. She went on to earn a gold rating at the national contest. Because of her passion for the Ag Sales contest, she has served as the contest’s state superintendent for over 20 years. Ms. Brossard is a promoter of agriculture, offering tours at her family’s farm. She also organizes events increasing agriculture awareness and understanding through various roles within Farm Bureau at the state and national level. Reflecting on her service to FFA, Andrea states that the network and support surrounding FFA and its members are unmatched, and she is honored to have been a part of it.
Wisconsin FFA VIP Award
Cheryl Steinbach
Mrs. Cheryl Steinbach has served as the Executive Director of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni and Supporters for the last 7 years. In that time, she has led the alumni and supporters to new heights. Mrs. Steinbach has supported the Wisconsin Association of FFA in countless ways-from judging a number of LDEs, reviewing state officer candidates, reviewing State and American degrees, the list goes on and on. Prior to her time with the Alumni and Supporters, Mrs. Steinbach was an agricultural educator at Granton High School. She retired after 28 years with the district and 30 years in total teaching agriculture. The Granton FFA and FFA Alumni programs earned countless state and national awards under her guidance and received international media coverage
when the school sent nearly every student to the National FFA Convention in 2011. During her career, Mrs. Steinbach has taught and inspired thousands of students, including: 162 State FFA Degree recipients, 72 American FFA Degree recipients, 2 state FFA officers and countless proficiency awards, speaking contests, and career development event winners. The impact Mrs. Steinbach has left on Wisconsin FFA is immeasurable. She has been an outstanding mentor, partner, supporter, and friend.
This award has been presented to a select few individuals. Since its inception as a state recognition program, twenty-five individuals have received it. The VIP award is presented for a lifetime of support, dedication, and leadership benefiting the FFA, the FFA Alumni, and/or the FFA Foundation.
