Fall in Wisconsin means changing leaves, crisp mornings and, apparently, putting pumpkin spice and apple crisp inside a cream puff. The seasonal favorites offer a taste of fall at this year’s Harvest Fair at State Fair Park in West Allis. The Pumpkin Spice Cream Puff and Apple Crisp Cream Puff will only be available during the fair, Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4. Those in the know say these cream puffs are as delicious as each name sounds!
Did you know? Governor John Blaine asked state food inspector Charles Kremer to design a signature food to highlight Wisconsin’s booming dairy industry. And in 1924, the Original Cream Puff was born!
Pumpkin spice gets the cream puff treatment
The Pumpkin Spice Cream Puff is filled with smooth pumpkin spice cream featuring warm flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, and seasonal spices. Basically, it’s fall in a fluffy pastry.
Apple crisp with caramel and crunch
The Apple Crisp Cream Puff takes a different route. It’s filled with smooth apple-flavored cream, drizzled with rich caramel, and topped with Grebe’s famous cruller crumble. So you get creamy, caramel-y, apple-y, and crunchy all in one bite.
