Wisconsin egg production during September was 204 million eggs, up slightly from the previous September. This is according to the latest Chickens and Eggs report from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The average number of all layers on hand during September was 7.7 million, down slightly from last year. Eggs per 100 layers for September was 2,625, up 1 percent from a year ago.
Meanwhile, U.S. egg production is down 2 percent from last year totaling 8.92 billion during September.
The average number of layers during September for the U.S. totaled 375 million, down 3 percent
from last year. September egg production per 100 layers was 2,381 eggs, up 1 percent from the year before. Total layers in the U.S. on October 1 totaled 377 million, down 2 percent from last year.
