WI Corn Holds At 1% Planted

Wisconsin had 2.4 days suitable for fieldwork statewide for the week ending April 12, 2026, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Manure and fertilizer were applied as conditions allowed, but field work was limited by precipitation and muddy field conditions.

Topsoil moisture condition rated 0 percent very short, 3 percent short, 55 percent adequate, and 42 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture condition rated 1 percent very short, 4 percent short, 69 percent adequate, and 26 percent surplus.

Corn planting was 1 percent complete. Oat planting was 4 percent complete compared with 2 percent last week. Spring tillage was 7 percent complete compared with 3 percent last week.

Pasture and range condition was 38 percent good to excellent, up 3 percentage points from last week.

Winter wheat condition was 48 percent good to excellent, down 3 percentage points from last week.
