Ever.Ag dairy broker-analyst Cody Koster says the marketplace is pretty quiet right now, waiting on Tuesday’s milk production report from USDA.
“Grain and milk for the past week, week and a half, we’ve just kind of been in this ring,” he says. “People are waiting to see… what will the USDA find out West on cow numbers, and… were they down on milk as much as everybody’s talking about.”
Koster says the heat, weather, and bird flu may have influenced both cattle count and milk production.
In other news, as the summer has rolled out, food trends point to more people going out to eat.
“People are getting out, going out with friends and family, spending the monies outside of the grocery store,” he says. “And also these deals that McDonalds, Wendy’s, or Chillis are coming up with, are really helping people get out there and spend that money.”
