Vision Screening At State Fair

The Lions Club is offering free vision screening for kids at the Wisconsin State Fair. Adults are also welcome to get their vision screened.

The device takes a photo of the eye and prints out a prescription if needed. The device is most accurate for children 12 and under. The user selects the age of the child, the child looks at the smiley face on the screen, the camera takes the photo. The photo will say pass if the child’s eyes do not need a prescription. If the child does need a prescription, the device will print off the prescription and referral for an eye doctor.

Susan and Ray Jones of the Waterford Lions Club explain the history of the Lions Club’s vision screening service. They also want people to know that if a family cannot pay for glasses for their child, the Lions Club provides funding services, as well.
