Verona Family Farm to Host Breakfast on the Farm

Organizers of the Dane County Breakfast on the Farm are excited to announce the Kahl Family Farm will host the 44th annual event, held on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The Kahl Family began farming their homestead in 1961, and over the years have raised dairy cattle, hogs, chickens, goats and crops. Everyone is welcome to visit the farm for breakfast, which is expected to draw more than 5,000 people and pays tribute to the farm families of Dane County and Wisconsin.

After enjoying breakfast, attendees are welcome to explore the farm and enjoy entertainment on the Main Stage – including live music by Soggy Prairie. Visitors can also explore the Expo area, where vendors will host educational activities and offer samples of Wisconsin dairy products.

New this year will include a live auction at the conclusion of the breakfast, put on by Imkahlng Auctions, managed by Riley Kahl and Family. Money received during these cash and carry auctions will be donated to the Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin, a nonprofit working to end poverty and help people live better lives in Dane County.

“Breakfast on the Farm is an exciting way to celebrate the farm families of Dane County,” says Emily Matzke, Breakfast on the Farm Committee Member. “We provide food, fun and educational opportunities. Attendees can enjoy delicious Wisconsin dairy products, explore a Wisconsin farm and learn about modern farm technology. We are also excited about the unique spin our host family is offering this year.”

In addition to an appearance from local celebrities, including Alice in Dairyland and the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs, Dane County’s Fairest of the Fair will be officially crowned during the event.

Held the second Saturday in June, Breakfast on the Farm offers breakfast and entertainment throughout the morning for all ages and serves as one of the Dane County Dairy Promotion Committee’s premiere, annual events. The breakfast is open to the public and offers visitors a chance to learn about the dairy community and its products.
