The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Humane Handling Institute will offer bilingual workshops in humane handling and stunning. These will be on Thursday, May 1, and Friday, May 2. The workshops will be held on the UWRF campus. The instruction will be in English and translated simultaneously in Spanish by an interpreter with industry experience.
The program is designed for meat industry personnel such as livestock handlers, stunner operators and managers from slaughter establishments of all sizes. Participants will gain enhanced skills, greater confidence and a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of humane handling and stunning through hands-on activities in a safe, comfortable environment.
Most Wisconsin trainees qualify for free registration from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
