UW-Platteville Student Among National Pork Awardees

The National Pork Producers Council announced recipients of the 2025 Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship at the National Pork Industry Forum. These awards recognize exceptional university students dedicated to advancing careers in the U.S. pork industry and shaping its future.

One winner of a $2,500 Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship was Victorria Meylor, a senior at UW-Platteville.

Originally from Darlington, Meylor is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. Her agricultural roots run deep. She was raised on her family’s dairy and commercial sow farms. Meylor was active in FFA and 4-H during high school. After graduation, she joined Block and Bridle, Southwest Wisconsin Pork Producers, Wisconsin Pork Association, and Wisconsin Corn Growers Association, to name a few.

In an internship with the Wisconsin Pork Association, Meylor served as the official youth representative, focusing on marketing and promoting the pork industry. More specifically, her duties included helping coordinate state fair events such as Pork Schoppe and Hall of Fame.

“These scholarship recipients embody the future of our industry,” said Lori Stevermer, outgoing NPPC president. “During my years of service with NPPC, I’ve witnessed the difference we can make by speaking up and championing the pork industry. These young leaders share that same passion and determination, inspiring confidence in their ability to meet challenges and embrace opportunities. NPPC is proud to invest in these talented individuals who will shape a stronger, more resilient future for us all.”
