Union Thresheree To Hum With Vintage Engines

Mark your calendars! On July 25-27, Symco’s Union Thresheree Grounds will hum with antique tractors, vintage engines, and old‐time farming demonstrations.

Hosted by the volunteer‐run Union Thresherman’s Club, this year’s 58th annual event spotlights Ford & Fordson tractors, “doodle bugs” (homebuilt motor vehicles), and pre‑1960 farm trucks. Attendees can expect field demonstrations, chainsaw contests, a working sawmill, and a water‑powered feed mill, just to name a few highlights.

The competition builds on Saturday with the National Antique Tractor Pull beginning at 9 a.m., plus improved and modified classes on Friday at noon. Scales open before each session, and pull fees stand at $25 (or $20 if pre‑registered).

Keeping with tradition, this event preserves agricultural heritage, featuring live exhibits of gas engines and historical farm equipment. The grounds — across 33 acres — have a story, too, stewarded by the Larry Werth family for over 70 years.

Admission is $10 for adults, while children under 12 and veterans enjoy free entry.

Organizer Gary Knuth is the primary contact for questions about camping, pulls, flea‑market vending, and featured tractors. Don’t miss the chance to step back in time! For complete details and schedule updates, visit symcoutc.com or call Gary Knuth at (920) 757‑6995.

Gary and LuAnne Knuth are also leading the heritage tractor display at Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, Aug. 5-7 at Clinton Farms in Bear Creek. Learn more: https://omny.fm/shows/mid-west-farm-report-madison/tech-days-display-will-honor-wisconsins-farming-roots
