The countdown is on for World Dairy Expo, Sept. 30 – Oct. 3, in Madison. Billed as the premier gathering of the dairy industry, the event showcases the best of dairy farming and innovation.
Kay Zwald, a board member with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin representing Dunn and St. Croix counties, says Expo is unlike any other event.
“You have the very best dairy cattle shows, a huge international trade show, cutting-edge educational sessions, and thousands of people who share a passion for dairy,” says Zwald, a dairy farmer from Hammond. “It’s a chance to celebrate the industry, showcase Wisconsin’s leadership, and connect with people who are shaping the future of dairy worldwide.”
Wisconsin’s role as America’s Dairyland will be front and center, with farmers, cheesemakers, and processors highlighting their contributions.
“Behind every glass of milk or slice of cheese is a family farm that works hard every day,” Zwald says.
This year, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin will debut a new presence at Expo. The organization’s container will be located just outside the Tanbark, near the popular Badger Dairy Club Grilled Cheese Stand. The space will serve as a hub for producers and attendees to meet with staff, ask questions, and learn about programs supporting Wisconsin dairy farmers.
World Dairy Expo is a celebration of everything we love about dairy — our cows, our farms, our people, and our future,” Zwald says. “I’d encourage everyone coming to Expo to stop by the DFW container, take part in the energy, and join us in celebrating Wisconsin dairy. Together, we’re building a stronger, brighter future for this industry.”
