Teach New Hunters Through Spring Turkey Programs

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) seeks conservation groups, hunting organizations, and experienced hunters to host Learn to Hunt Turkey programs this spring.

Each year, people of all ages want to participate in Wisconsin’s turkey seasons. Hunters with five or more years of experience can help by volunteering.

Learn to Hunt programs offer educational turkey hunts outside regular seasons. Instructors provide at least four hours of training before a mentored hunt.

Instruction can be classroom-based or hands-on. Training may include scouting, practicing turkey calls, and shotgun patterning. A safety briefing by a certified Hunter Education Instructor is required.

All volunteers must pass a DNR background check.
