Take A Break From The Draft To Experience Wisconsin Agriculture

As football fans from across the country head to Green Bay for the draft, Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center invites visitors to celebrate Wisconsin agriculture. They are also invited to take part in cheese-themed activities sponsored by Gather Wisconsin. From Tuesday, April 22 through Saturday, April 26, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., guests can enjoy a slice of Wisconsin. Doing so with self-guided tours of the center, a chance to see a cow give birth, up-close encounters with piglets, and cheese-themed activities.

Activities

Friday and Saturday, attendees will have the additional opportunity for a behind-the-scenes tour of a local, family-owned dairy farm. Tours will be led by a Farm Wisconsin guide, offering guests the chance to ask questions. As well as learn more about daily life on a working dairy farm. Bus tours will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional $5 at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. Availability is subject to change.

Inside the discovery center, visitors can participate in a range of cheese-themed activities, including a blind cheese taste test. Featuring some of Wisconsin’s finest cheddar, this activity challenges participants to put their taste buds to the test and identify different cheeses. A selection of local cheese and unique Wisconsin-made souvenirs will be available for purchase at the Farm House Store.

Adding to the excitement, piglet friends will be on site all week. This offers guests the chance to pet and snap memorable photos. All cheese activities and pig interactions are included in the price of general admission to Farm Wisconsin. Tickets can be purchased online or at the reception desk during the event week.

Farm Wisconsin’s café will also be open Tuesday through Saturday. The café, which features farm-to-table breakfast and lunch options, is open 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on those days.

Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center

The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is an interactive agricultural education center located along I-43 in northeastern Wisconsin. Farm Wisconsin connects visitors’ curiosity to the wonder of Wisconsin agriculture and provides guests with a better understanding of their food sources and their importance.

Regular Farm Wisconsin admission rates are $18 for adults, $14 for seniors 62 and older, and $10 for youth 3-18. Children 2 and younger are admitted free of charge. More information can be found at farmwisconsin.org.
