Science, technology, engineering, and math. While you did not hear agriculture in that lineup, agriculture includes all of those things. And this year, the rest of the state will find that out as well.
For the first time in 14 years, the theme of this year’s statewide Wisconsin Science Festival is agriculture.
The festival, October 14-20, is a weeklong series of events that connect people to science, technology, engineering, art, and math. This year, it’ll highlight agriculture.
Events range from fun runs to beer tastings and from museum outings to business tours. This year’s festival aims to showcase agriculture’s impact in the state economy, society, well-being, and future. Director Samantha Mulrooney says she hopes to see farms showcase modern farm technology.
More than 51 counties and 41,000 people participated last year. You’re invited to host an event for the Wisconsin Science Festival. If this is something you want your farm or agribusiness to be a part of, you can reach out at wiscifest.org. They’d like you to sign up before Aug. 1.
