Spiegel Receives Supreme Poultry Exhibitor

Jada Spiegel of Holmen is the 2024 Wisconsin State Fair Poultry Supreme Exhibitor. The Supreme Exhibitor award is based on a junior exhibitor’s overall achievements at the 2024 Fair. This is determined by points earned participating in the Junior Poultry show, Quiz contest, Communication contest and Showmanship.

Spiegel’s involvement with poultry began when her family moved to a hobby farm which sparked her interest to research chicken breeds. She became hooked when she discovered the many diverse and beautiful breeds.

As an exhibitor for the past 6 years, Spiegel’s involvement at Wisconsin State Fair includes exhibiting chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, and pigeons. She also breeds Belgian d’Anvers bantam chickens and Arabian Trumpeter pigeons for exhibition. Spiegel is proud to have won the Poultry Supreme Exhibitor award three consecutive years!

Spiegel is currently a sophomore at University of Wisconsin- River Falls where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Crop Science. In the future, she plans to get a master’s degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics to become a professional plant breeder. She hopes to one day breed chickens, pigeons, geese, and turkeys. In addition to exhibiting poultry, Spiegel hopes to become a licensed American Poultry Association judge one day.

This year Spiegel challenged herself by stepping out of her comfort zone of poultry to learn how to do pigeon showmanship. A highlight for her is winning Champion Poultry Showman with her pigeon this year!
