Soybean Marketing Board To Elect New Member

Two nominees are eligible for the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board. Candidates were nominated during the period that ended May 31, 2024.

The election opened on July 10 and soybean growers have until August 15, 2024, to vote on the following candidates:

District 2 Nominee: Justin Bauer, Eau Claire,
Buffalo, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, St. Croix and Trempealeau counties.

District 6 Nominee: Steve Wilkens, Random Lake,
Jefferson, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties.

DATCP mailed ballots to eligible soybean growers the week of July 8, 2024. Growers who have not received a ballot by July 19 can request one by contacting DATCP Market Orders Program staff at DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov. Completed ballots must be signed and sent to WI DATCP, Market Order Program, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI, 53708-8911. Postmark ballots on or before August 15, 2024. Elected growers will serve three-year terms beginning September 1, 2024.About the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board

The Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board oversees the collection and use of approximately $3.5 million in assessment fees paid by Wisconsin soybean growers. Funding supports the soybean industry through research, education, and promotion of Wisconsin-grown soybeans. DATCP administers elections for Wisconsin commodity marketing boards.
