Solar Info Session Happening In Whitewater

The Wisconsin Farmers Union Kenosha-Jefferson-Racine-Walworth Chapter invites members and guests to a balanced community informational session on large-scale solar. It’ll be at the Whitewater Innovation Center on Aug. 18 from 5:30-8 p.m.

This event will give an overview of existing and potential known projects. It’ll also discuss adjacent landowner considerations and provide lease negotiation education. There will also be discussions around community power, protections, agreements, & maximizing benefits.

Refreshments served at 5 p.m. Program runs 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The Whitewater Innovation Center is at 1221 Innovation Dr. in Whitewater.

“Our members have told us they want clear, unbiased information about energy development in southeastern Wisconsin—context that helps them understand the issues without being told what to think,” says Director of Conservation and Stewardship Tara Greiman. “This event is designed to equip farmers, landowners, and community members with the tools they need to evaluate how energy projects may impact their land, livelihoods, and the future of our electric grid.”
