Sec. Romanski Visits McCain Foods

McCain Foods USA, the leading supplier of frozen potato and snack food products across the country, hosted the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, Randy Romanski, at its processing plant in Plover, WI. Secretary Romanski toured McCain’s plant operations and met with senior company leadership to discuss issues related to trade and McCain’s commitment to sustainability.

“We were proud to showcase our Plover plant and the 478 individuals who operate it during a productive visit with Secretary Romanski and we thank him for visiting,” said Ed White, Plant Manager at McCain Foods USA. “In addition to touring the plant’s operations, where local potatoes are made into delicious French fries, we discussed McCain’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. We have set our company’s purpose towards producing planet-friendly food to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.  The local growers, the Plover community and team members at our potato processing plants all play a critical role in helping McCain reach its sustainability goals and we were proud to highlight these efforts today.”

“Wisconsin is one of the top states in potato production with more than 3.1 billion pounds of potatoes produced in 2020,” said Randy Romanski, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. “I appreciate today’s tour and thank McCain Foods for sharing more information about their operations. From farmers to processors and haulers to retail, each person who participates in this industry depends on each other. DATCP is proud to play a role in ensuring Wisconsin’s safe, nutritious, and delicious foods are available across the world.”
