Save On Propane Projects

Farms use a lot of propane-fueled equipment, so Focus On Energy has a bonus incentive when completing any propane or natural gas-fueled equipment projects. Anything purchased after March 11 of this year is eligible for the 50 percent bonus match as long as its installed by Dec. 31 and applications are submitted by Jan. 31, 2022.

Some of the projects may include heat recover units, water heaters, boilers, furnaces, infrared heaters — anything to do with heat or water heating is probably eligible for this bonus, says energy advisor Jessica Mlsna.

Focus On Energy is also offering incentives for those with irrigation investments. The organization’s pump motor horsepower reduction offering allows farmers to downsize the motor on their irrigation system for a $65 per horsepower reduction.

“This year it’s on people’s minds … we didn’t have a lot of rainfall for quite some time,” Mlsna says.

And there’s an incentive for smart thermostats. The Office of Energy Innovation and Focus On Energy are offering a $100 discount on smart thermostats for farmhouses that are heated by propane.

Mlsna stresses that the folks at Focus On Energy will walk people through the application process and get the paperwork together to make it as easy as possible.
