Organic Cost Share Program Open Now

Organic food processors and producers can apply for reimbursement of costs related to organic certification through the USDA’s Organic Certification Cost Share Program through Oct. 31.

Farms and businesses that produce, process, or package certified organic agricultural products can get a 75 percent reimbursement of certification-related costs. This is up to $750 per scope of certification. The reimbursement is for eligible expenses from Oct. 1, 2023, through Sep. 30, 2024. Farms or businesses must be currently certified or be actively seeking certification through an accredited certifier during that time and be located in Wisconsin.

Application materials and instructions are available here: https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/AgDevelopment/OrganicFarmingAndFood.aspx

Mail applications to DATCP-DAD, Organic Cost Share Program, PO Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708; email applications to datcporganiccostshare@wi.gov; or submit them through an online form: https://form.jotform.com/231435431816149

DATCP needs proof of certification and payment in order to process reimbursement payments. Certifiers may provide DATCP with this supporting documentation but certifying agencies must agree to do this. First-time applicants will also need to complete and submit a W-9 and a new supplier form.
