The deadline for the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s 2024 Organic Certification Cost Share Program has been extended to Dec. 16.
Dates for eligible expenses remain the same, however: only eligible expenses from Oct. 1, 2023, through Sep. 30, 2024, will be used to calculate reimbursements. Organic operations can be certified in four possible scopes and are eligible for up to 75 percent or $750 per scope in which they are certified.
The four scopes are:
- Crops
- Livestock
- Wild crops
- Handler/Processor
While the deadline has been extended, applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Organic operations can apply in three ways: by mail, email, and online form.
