Wisconsin had 1.1 days suitable for fieldwork statewide for the week ending April 19, 2026, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. Much of the state received heavy rains throughout the week, bringing most field work to a halt. Drier conditions in the Northwestern corner of the state allowed for some limited spring tillage and planting of small grains.
Topsoil moisture condition rated 0 percent very short, 1 percent short, 47 percent adequate, and 52 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture condition rated 0 percent very short, 1 percent short, 64 percent adequate, and 35 percent surplus.
Corn planting was 1 percent complete. Oat planting was 5 percent complete compared to the 5-year average of 16 percent.
One percent of oats had emerged. Spring tillage was 9 percent complete compared to the average of 16 percent.
Pasture and range condition was 38 percent good to excellent, the same as last week.
