Local Walmart leaders and representatives from The Little Potato Company are taking a unique “Farm to Shelf” tour on Tuesday, August 19th (National Potato Day) to showcase the incredible path of a potato from the rich fields of Coloma, through innovative packaging at The Little Potato Company in DeForest, to the fast-paced logistics and distribution and the local Walmart store in Tomah.
More than the journey of the potato, this four-stop tour will highlight the collaboration and innovation that bring fresh produce to the consumer’s table. It will showcase the sustainability measures that The Little Potato Company ensures and will also feature Walmart’s ongoing commitment to supporting locally grown produce and the businesses that make it possible.
Tuesday’s event will also include state and local business stakeholders and policymakers to celebrate the positive impact of locally sourced food on communities across Wisconsin.
