Lamb

Cash lambs were firm again last week. The lamb carcass cutout was lower last Friday at $503.25 compared to $499.81 the week before. It is estimated that 40,000 sheep and lambs were harvested last week, which was 3,000 more than the previous week and 4,400 more than last year. We could be seeing a larger supply of fed lambs coming to market this fall. New crop lambs were lower, selling from $185-$220/cwt.
