Milwaukee Food & City Tours to Bring the Spirit of Christmas to Doorsteps Nationwide

Milwaukee Food & City Tours, curators of one-of-a-kind public and private culinary tours in southeastern Wisconsin, along with international and domestic excursions, announced today the release of two limited-edition Wisconsin and Milwaukee-themed Advent calendar gift boxes. Each package is bursting with locally sourced sweet and savory delicacies, including the best chocolates in Wisconsin to all-time favorite specialties such as roasted nuts, caramels, honey, jam, mustard, and maple syrup. Each box is available with an optional add-on private Zoom meeting with Santa Claus.

“Although Christmas will look different in 2020, we are doing everything we can to keep the magic of the season alive and bring a taste of what people experience on our tours to the doorsteps of gift box recipients nationwide,” said Theresa Nemetz, founder and chief experience officer of Milwaukee Food & City Tours. “Each gift box within our Christmas collection supports 8 – 30 food producers and small businesses in the state of Wisconsin, and despite the temporary collapse of the travel industry, it has been an incredible experience to not only financially support these businesses, but also our employees and their families.”

Other seasonal offerings include the Family Breakfast Box, the Christmas Around the World Bakery Box, and Creamy Dreamy Gift Box for Custard Lovers, each of which include virtual workshops to meet the business owners and culinary creators behind the artisanal goods. Plus, all purchases include the opportunity to add on a live Zoom with Santa Claus, direct from the North Pole.

Nemetz added, “At the root of our company, we have the desire to support as many small businesses as possible. We’ve been working since early June to design our one-of-a-kind Advent calendar gift boxes and curate so many iconic Wisconsin-made items within the packages.”

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Milwaukee Food & City Tours transitioned from its core business offerings, including tours and trips, and faced a 100-percent loss of revenue. Immediately pivoting to create and deliver Quarantine Care Kits, the company now offers nationwide shipping and an international reach. In recent months, Milwaukee Food & City Tours’ gift box sales have infused more than $250,000 back to small businesses and food producers in the community as a direct result of orders.
