Milk Price Clocks in at $21.50

The Wisconsin all milk price for October 2020 was $21.50 per hundredweight (cwt) according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report. This was $3.80 higher than last month’s price and 80 cents higher than last October’s price.

The U.S. all milk price for October was $20.20 per cwt, $1.30 lower than Wisconsin’s price but $2.30 higher than last month’s U.S. price. Nineteen of the 24 major milk producing states had a higher price when compared with
September while 5 states were lower. South Dakota had the largest increase in price, up $5.40 per cwt.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange* (CME) 40‐pound block cheese price closed at $1.6600 per pound on November 30, while barrels were $1.4150 per pound. The CME butter price was $1.3625 per pound.

For the week ending November 21, 2020, the Agricultural Marketing Service* U.S. weekly 40‐pound block cheese price averaged $2.5527 per pound, and 500 pound barrels adjusted to 38 percent moisture averaged $2.3034 per pound. The U.S. butter price was $1.4987 per pound.
