Meet The Supreme Rabbit Exhibitor

Congratulations Hanna Brattlie, the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair Rabbit Supreme Exhibitor.

Hanna began her journey in rabbits at age eight with her first pet, a black Lionhead named Magic. With her mother’s support, she soon entered the show world, starting with Holland Lops and Netherland Dwarfs before discovering her true passion for Mini Lops. After acquiring her first Mini Lop doe, Quinn, she focused her efforts on building a quality Mini Lop program, which has since grown to a herd of about 40.

In addition to Mini Lops, Hanna now raises Dwarf Papillons, appreciating both their friendly temperament and the challenge of breeding a marked variety. She also maintains a small herd of Californian rabbits primarily for meat production.

Hanna has exhibited rabbits at the Wisconsin State Fair for five years, participating in both the junior and open shows. She especially enjoys the educational contests — the quiz for testing her knowledge, the communications contest for building speaking skills, and showmanship for combining both strengths. As this is her final year as a junior exhibitor, Hanna is honored to receive this award and grateful for her experiences at the Wisconsin State Fair.

In the future, she looks forward to continuing her involvement in the open show. Hanna is currently a junior at UW-Platteville, studying animal science. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to pursue a career in the agriculture industry.

Her most memorable Wisconsin State Fair experience comes from her first year exhibiting rabbits. She brought her first Mini Lop, Quinn, along with a few other rabbits and simply hoped to enjoy the experience. To her surprise, Quinn won Best of Breed and then went on to win Best in Show in the open show among many outstanding animals. That unexpected and exciting victory cemented Hanna’s passion for showing at the Wisconsin State Fair.
