Meat Talent Investment Pleases Tech College System

Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) announced on Tuesday that it would allocate up to $2.63 million for a Meat Talent Development Program. WTCS President Foy released the following statement:

“We are pleased the Governor’s office and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is allocating up to $2.63 million for a Meat Talent Development Program.

This industry, like so many, is in need of skilled workers to fill critical positions. The Wisconsin Technical College System has been working diligently with DATCP to develop meat processing training programs within the Wisconsin Technical College System to support Wisconsin’s meat sector. Development of these guided career pathways at Wisconsin’s technical colleges will help attract students and provide financial support toward their educational goals, while connecting the meat processing industry with potential employees.”
