Mark And Shawn Bula Win Small Business Persons Of The Year

Today the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Wisconsin District Office is celebrating Wisconsin’s Small Business Persons of the Year. This is as it prepares for National Small Business Week, which will take place May 4-10, 2025. Along with awards ceremonies, the week will include a national small business roadshow with SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler. It will also include a two-day virtual summit, community events and educational sessions. Those are about manufacturing, digital marketing, cybersecurity and cryptocurrency, as well as online business resources and renowned speakers.

The SBA is recognizing Mark and Shawn Bula of Signature Farms II, LLC in Grand Marsh, Wis. as its SBA Wisconsin 2025 Small Business Persons of the Year.  After 40 years of partnership and expansion of their chip potato farming operation with another family, the Bula’s purchased the other share with the help of an SBA 504 loan and their community banker in 2021. Their farming expertise has since helped them grow their harvest, acreage, workforce, and profits. All while contributing to their industry and their rural community.

SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler will acknowledge the Bula’s, who are in the running for the National Small Business Persons of the Year and national runner up. That announcement will be on May 5 at the National Small Business Week kick off and awards ceremony. That event is in Washington, D.C.

Details on National Small Business Week, the virtual summit, registrations and speakers are featured on www.sba.gov/NSBW. It will be updated as additional information and activities are confirmed. Local events will be featured on www.sba.gov/events and identifiable by searching with #SmallBusinessWeek.
