Retail price per gallon in 2023 was $52.00 and wholesale price per gallon was $46.40. Bulk sales in 2023 totaled 354,000 gallons, with an average price of $27.10 per gallon.
Wisconsin ranks fourth in the nation for maple syrup production.
U.S. maple syrup production totaled 5.86 million gallons, up 17 percent from the previous season. The number of taps totaled 17.1 million, up 5 percent from the 2023 total. Yield per tap was 0.342 gallon, up 0.035 gallon from the previous season.
The 2023 United States average price per gallon was $32.80, down $1.70 from 2022.
