A dairy woman from Manawa has been selected the 2022 Farm Woman of the Year by Results Broadcasting’s Family of Radio Stations in Shawano, Wisconsin.
The 38th Annual Farm Woman of the Year on is Rachel Thoma. Thoma and her husband, Jesse, work together to run a 90 cow dairy farm with an additional 110 head of young stock. Rachel also has 3 sons: Cody, Matthew, and Brandon. Rachel was nominated by two separate individuals. Her friends, Ron Brooks and Heidi Stein.
Results Broadcasting’s 4 local radio stations, WTCH-AM 960 & 96.1 FM; “3 Decades of Rock- The Bee” 99.3 FM WOWN; “The Franchise Sports Radio 94.9 FM-96.5 FM-AM 1380” WOTE; “Frog Country” 92.3 FM WJMQ; gave their listeners an opportunity to nominate area farm women who they thought would be most deserving of this award.
Results Broadcasting General Manager, Eric Voight, stated, “Rachel’s dedication and involvement with the management of their operation, her family, and many farm related organizations in the community brought her nomination to the top of the list.”
The special broadcast featured this year’s Farm Woman of the Year sponsors, Thoma’s family, Farm Woman of the Year supporters, and representatives from the radio stations. Rachel received many gifts from Farm Woman of the Year sponsors, an engraved plaque, and $500 from our Farm Director, Pam Jahnke.
Voight added, “In partnership with farmers throughout Northeast Wisconsin and in dedication of serving our listeners, the radio stations are proud to continue to promote farming and being a loyal friend of the farmer.”
