Lodi Manufacturer Feels International Pinch

A Lodi, Wisconsin meat equipment company is being directly impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Alkar is an international company that was in the middle of a deal for a hot dog processing machine worth about $8 million when federal sanctions were put in place due to the unrest in Russia and Ukraine.

Steve King, the vice president of global sales at Alkar, says they are working with their international offices to find new solutions, but can’t conduct any business until the sanctions are lifted.

King says that with this conflict, input costs will rise and delivery times will be longer. From an international standpoint, he says there is a lot more uncertainty across the world when it comes to the supply chain.
