Levendofsky returns to WFU as Government Relations Director

Wisconsin Farmers Union has hired Nick Levendofsky as government relations director. Levendofsky grew up on a diversified crop and beef cattle farm in Kansas. He has been the Director of External Affairs for Rocky Mountain Farmers Union for the past two years and previously worked for WFU and Kansas Farmers Union.

In his new role, Levendofsky will be communicating WFU policy positions and priorities to legislators and officials and keeping members updated on state and federal legislative developments.

Levendofsky serves on several national boards including the Institute for Agriculture & Trade Policy, the Institute for Rural America, and RuralOrganizing.org. He has a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Agriculture Communications and Journalism. He is an active member of National Farmers Union and a 2015 graduate of the Beginning Farmer Institute.

“I am extremely honored and excited to return to Wisconsin Farmers Union to continue advancing grassroots agricultural policy that comes directly from the membership,” Levendofsky said. “I look forward to reconnecting with WFU members and staff, and to building strong coalitions to advance our legislative priorities in Madison and Washington, D.C.”

“We’re really happy to have Nick back,” said WFU President Darin Von Ruden. “He is a true agricultural spokesperson, wonderful communicator, and very capable person who will help drive our mission of working on behalf of family farmers, rural communities, and all people.”

Nick will be based in Madison and began his duties on December 1. He can be reached at [email protected].
