Legislature Seeks Input On Ag

The state Assembly and Senate are seeking public comment and input to improve public/private initiatives.  

According to Rep. Gary Tauchen, R-Bonduel, the responses to this request will help in the development of a series of recommendations to be forwarded to respective Legislative committees for their consideration in early 2022.

Options will be considered to develop a series of policies, each intended to be evaluated on its merits as a stand-alone option and collectively as a policy program. Support documents below have additional background, an overview of the proposal and brief descriptions of the specific policy options under consideration. 

Comments are requested regarding the questions posed on:

–Carbon Accounting for Animal Agricultural Enterprises

–Nutrient Management and Biogas

–On-Site Energy Systems

–Carbon Offsets and Managing Carbon of Supply/Suppliers

The Wisconsin Agriculture/Carbon/Energy/Water or A-CEW initiative is exploring a series of options for consideration of legislative action in 2022 and beyond. This “Request for Comment” is intended to solicit responses from stakeholders regarding the scope and scale of the A-CEW initiative. And the comments will provide direction in A-CEW’s efforts to develop a set of actionable recommendations to be considered in the upcoming legislative committee efforts.

Request for comment submissions must be in PDF format, with comments per category not exceeding five pages in length, and text point size of 11 or greater. Comments are due by 5 p.m. Nov. 30.
