Summer in Wisconsin wouldn’t be complete without cream puffs and carnival rides! The Wisconsin State Fair returns Thursday, July 31, bringing 11 days of food, fun, and unforgettable memories. Whether it’s your first time, or you’re a seasoned fair veteran, there are a few things you’ll want to know before you go to the fairgrounds in West Allis.
From admission details and bag policies to gate information and entertainment schedules, staying informed will help you maximize your time at the fair. Tess Kerksen, the Director of Marketing and Communications with the Wisconsin State Fair, has the details you need to know before you go to this year’s event.
Visitors should note that the State Fair has a clear-bag policy. Kerksen also encourages attendees to purchase tickets in advance online. “You’re gonna wanna head to wistatefair.com. That’s not only gonna have your tickets. You can also preorder cream puffs and all the fun things,” Kerksen reminds fairgoers. With food vendors, rides, agricultural showcases and more, the Wisconsin State Fair has a little something for everyone.
It’s not just the fairgoers who are excited. Staff members are also eager for sights, sounds and flavors of the fair. “It’s the fact that I can see a cow, a corn dog, a shopping gadget, a family, drinks, the Skyglider, all the attractions, and I can see that all in a twenty second span,” says Kerksen.
