Golden Sands RC&D will be hosting a pasture walk with Art and Rheta Richardson at
Richardson Farm in Waupaca. This walk will explore winter bale grazing and season extension with stockpiled forages. This free event will be held on Saturday, December 6 from 10am-12pm.
Winter bale grazing and season extension through stockpiled forages are great management
strategies to enhance the economic and environmental performance of a farm operation.
Attendees will participate in an informative and hands-on discussion about practical winter grazing
strategies and management tips. Topics will include managing recently stockpiled acres, winter bale grazing setup and placement ideas. They also include tips on moving cattle during winter conditions, and first-hand successes and challenges with winter bale grazing. Art and Rheta are seasoned graziers of Waupaca County, having transitioned their beef cow operation to managed grazing about 13 years ago. This event is an opportunity to learn from years of experience and innovation.
This Pasture Walk is brought to you by Golden Sands RC&D with support from GrassWorks Inc. and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. Warm beverages and refreshments are provided! Join us at this FREE event: Register at: www.goldensandsrcd.org/events or for more information email
